Frequently Asked Questions:

Therapy Services
Q: What types of therapy do you offer?
We provide individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Common areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and behavioral challenges. Group therapy options include parenting, anger management, women’s issues, couples support, Road to Recovery, and independent living skills.

Q: How do I know if therapy is right for me or my child?
Therapy can help when you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or facing life changes. It offers a safe, supportive space to work through challenges, gain insight, and learn healthy coping strategies.

Q: How often will I attend therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions are scheduled weekly or biweekly, based on your individualized treatment plan and clinical needs. Your therapist will help determine the most appropriate schedule.

Q: Do I need to be in therapy to receive other services?
Yes. Active therapy services must be in place to qualify for additional services such as peer support, mentoring, or targeted case management.

Peer Support Services
Q: What is peer support?
Peer support connects you with trained individuals who have lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges. These mentors offer encouragement, shared insight, and practical coping support in a nonjudgmental environment.

Q: How often are peer support services provided?
Peer support services typically involve at least 3 hours per week of scheduled contact. Sessions may include one-on-one support, community activities, or skill-building guidance.

Q: Who can benefit from peer support?
Adults managing mental health concerns, navigating recovery, or seeking extra encouragement beyond therapy can benefit from peer support.

Child & Adult Mentoring Services
Q: What does mentoring involve?
Mentoring provides supportive, non-clinical guidance to help individuals develop life skills, manage daily routines, and build confidence. It is especially helpful for children, teens, and adults working toward greater independence.

Q: What are the scheduling expectations for mentoring services?
Mentoring services are generally provided for approximately 3 hours per week. Sessions are scheduled based on client availability and individual goals.

Q: How is mentoring different from therapy?
While therapy focuses on emotional and psychological healing, mentoring is practical and skill-based. It complements therapy by helping clients apply coping skills, manage responsibilities, and work toward personal development goals.

Targeted Case Management (TCM)
Q: What is Targeted Case Management?
TCM is a support service designed to help clients access resources and coordinate care related to housing, healthcare, education, employment, and more. Case managers advocate for clients and assist with achieving practical goals that support overall wellness.

Q: How often will I meet with a case manager?
Clients receiving TCM are expected to have a minimum of 5 contacts per month. This may include in-person meetings, phone calls, or other forms of communication based on need and goal progress.

Q: Who qualifies for TCM services?
Clients must have a qualifying mental health diagnosis and active therapy services in place to receive Targeted Case Management.

Insurance and Payment
Q: Are services covered by insurance?
At this time, additional services such as peer support, mentoring, and case management are only covered under Medicaid. We recommend contacting our office to verify your Medicaid eligibility and available benefits.
